Buy the one of a kind BFG-8500 on eBay, this week
(2000-08-08 through 2000-08-15) only!
Bid on my homemade BFG-8500, a "working" model similar to
the BFG-9000 found in Doom. Here
is the link for more information. Thanks for looking!
Here is something special for you Doom players out there. An entirely new world to explore! I put many interesting details into all these levels, and I hope you like them.
I was introduced to the art of Doom WAD file editing by a co-worker at Creative Insights, Rich Waters. I started creating my own levels and got a bit carried away. My efforts, all nine levels, are included in PWORLD.WAD.
These are DOOM I levels and require the registered version of the game. I recommend using version 1.666 or higher. This WAD file also works well with The Ultimate Doom. All levels have varying degrees of difficulty, and may be played as single player or multiplayer deathmatch games.
To use PWORLD with Doom, unzip the PWORLD.ZIP file into your Doom directory and enter the following on the command line:
doom -file pworld.wad
Level 1: A regular gauntlet of monsters. Many secret areas and hidden weapons.
Level 2: Doink! Don't get squished under the crushers -- boy, there sure are a lot of imps in that big room. Have fun finding the secrets.
Level 3: Down in the hollow by the old gnarly tree, lives a herd of monsters, set on killing thee. (Watch for the secret exit that leads to level 9).
Level 4: My first and largest WAD file. Don't miss any of the secret areas, including "the pit".
Level 5: A spaceship! Cool. Well, an atmosphere ship anyway. Open the windows and watch the scenery go by. Check out the TV monitors in the control room, and shoot some bad guys, too. Watch out for the radiation in the engine room.
Level 6: A huge reservoir tank is inhabited by deadly monsters. See if you can figure out how to get some of the big monsters to kill each other. Look for the secret room containing a BFG 9000. Ride up the intake and outlet pipes, or take the elevators. This level has an interesting feature for DOOM map -- an over-under crossing.
Level 7: A simple arena of death. The "shotgun" level. This is a surprisingly engaging deathmatch level where no player ever gets an unfair advantage in weapons, health or position.
Level 8: The final level. Full of surprises, including a shooting gallery and the "Escher" room where up is down and stairs go sideways.
Level 9: (Secret level) The Dam. A hydroelectric installation. Many closed doors are opened from the control rooms on either side of the dam. Lots of remote control switches that open doors or close them again. Can you tell which are which? |

Thanks to all the people who helped test and refine these levels: Roy Eltham, Bill Cawthorne, Rich Waters, Scot Amos, and the other folks I have neglected to mention.
